NOTICE OF A PROPOSAL TO HOLD A NEWFOUNDLAND DOG THEMED

FINE ART EXHIBITION

AT THE KENNEL CLUB ART GALLERY

CLARGES STREET, PICCADILLY, LONDON W1

From time to time, The Kennel Club mounts temporary exhibitions within the secure and controlled conservation conditions of its designated art gallery. On occasions, exhibitions feature a specific breed or theme and collectors throughout the world are invited to loan items for display. Initially, a feasibility study has to be made and submitted to the Curator and Art Committee of The Kennel Club.

We, as Newfoundland enthusiasts and Members of The Kennel Club, have agreed to conduct this research and invite those of you, who possess items of art, sculpture, ceramics, metal ware, jewellery, other artefacts or ephemera that they would like to be considered for display in the exhibition, to notify one of us. In the first instance, please send a photograph/image, together with note of size and brief description of the work/piece. This information is required by 27th March 2011. Should you wish to obtain further details, prior to submitting items for consideration, please do not hesitate to telephone. The final choice of items to be exhibited will be that of The Kennel Club Art Committee.

You can be assured that all information will be treated in the strictest confidence. If the proposal is accepted, it is anticipated that the exhibition will be staged in the second half of 2012, prior to the possible return of ‘The Distinguished Member’ to The Tate Art Gallery.

This is a rare and perhaps once in a lifetime, opportunity. It would be wonderful if the concept could become a reality. We look forward to hearing from you.
